About Me.
I am Quincy Edward Barnes and I am a Fourth-year Aerospace Engineer at the University of California, Irvine. I am driven by the ambition to always become and do more. I carry this out by getting as much experience as I can and being as involved in my community as possible. In this portfolio we will explore my technical abilities, leadership skills, and personal goals, so let's get to it!
UC Irvine Rocket Project
The UC Irvine Rocket Project is an Undergraduate team that provides student engineers with the opportunity to create a rocket. I, Quincy Barnes am the Chief Engineer for the Liquids team and am tasked with fabricating and designing a bi-propellant (MethaLox) liquid rocket. Since the launch of our Preliminary Test Rocket, we are now in the design and testing phase for our new rocket.
NSBE @ UC Irvine
The National Society of Black Engineers is a minority-based organization focused on increasing the amount of responsible black engineers in the engineering industry. I am a part of the NSBE @ UC Irvine chapter and in 2022-2023 I was the Outreach Chair now from 2023-2025 I have served as my chapter's President. I have been tasked with bringing together our small community and building up the Black STEM scholars at my university, I am up to the challenge!
